Types of imaging

Pre-clinical imaging can be divided into 2 types: Anatomical and Molecular imaging

CT image of Brain

CT image of Brain

Anatomical Imaging - It is the technique and process of creating visual representations of the interior of a human body for clinical analysis and medical intervention. Types of anatomical imaging include X-rays / Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging

Fluorescent imaging

Fluorescent imaging

Molecular Imaging - It is the visualization, characterisation and measurement of biological processes at the molecular and cellular levels in human body. Types of molecular imaging include Optical imaging such as Bioluminescence (BLI) and Fluorescence (FLI)

Within NPIC we utilise MRI, CT and Optical Imaging
